The Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) is dedicated to helping community residents transform distressed neighborhoods into healthy and sustainable communities—good places to live, work, and raise a family. LISC works with community groups to identify priorities and challenges, delivering support to meet local needs.

The efforts of Local Initiatives Support Corporation

Through a network of 30 offices in cities across America and a national rural program, LISC mobilizes corporate, government, and philanthropic support; LISC uses these resources to bring capital and technical assistance to distressed neighborhoods. The results have been dramatic. Over the past 28 years, LISC has worked with community-based organizations to create affordable homes, jobs for neighborhood residents, commercial and community facilities, schools, and playing fields.
